So I know it's a bit early to start planning for Christmas... but I would like to start getting or making awesome, chic AND cheap gifts for my family and friends. Any ideas? I am semi-crafty but can't really sew, and I am just dreading buying things for the men in my life (husband, dad, uncles, brother-in-law, etc).
So... ideas? Pretty please?

This year, we're doing homemade preserves - some jams, salsa, oven dried tomatoes, and homemade herb vinegar to round things out..

You beat me to it!

You can also make things like bath bombs, or cake-mix-in-a-jar, or that sort of thing for an awesome homemade gift that looks really attractive.

Do you have any particularly good jam or salsa recipes?

This sounds like a scam, but it's not: Silver Jewelry Club has some nice jewelry for a flat rate of $6/ea, and that's w/shipping included. (The premise behind the site is that the jewelry is free, but the $5.99 is for "shipping.") I've gotten tons of nice earrings/pendants, etc. for friends and family this way, so I definitely recommend it! Also, The Hunger Site has a really excellent store, where most of the stuff there is really unique, and really affordable. (Oh, and it's usually only $3 for shipping on a whole cartful of items.) Plus, your purchases are matched in food donations by the company, so it gives back a little bit, too. (You can also shop via the Breast Cancer/Rainforest/Animal Rescue tabs on the site, and your food donations will instead be converted into donations to animal shelters, conservation groups, etc.) This site has a LOT of cool stuff for guys, too.
